Curriculum for Excellence (CfE)
Curriculum for Excellence is intended to help children and young people gain the knowledge, skills and attributes needed for life in the 21st century, including skills for learning, life and work.
Its purpose is often summed up as helping children and young people to achieve what is referred to as the four capacities. These can be seen opposite.
All pupils in S1-3 are assessed against the Drama Experiences and Outcomes in the Curriculum for Excellence document. This year, there have been new benchmarks published. These outline the updated assessment requirements for each level that staff use when identifying the level pupils are working at.
In addition to the Drama specific experiences and outcomes, there is also a responsibility of all staff to assess three areas across learning. These are:
